Mental illness isn’t funny, but living with one sure can be.
…At least that’s my motto. I am the proud owner of OCD, a sexual abuse survivor, anorexia survivor and an all around neurotic (but fun!) mess.
During my recovery, I found comedy and humor to be the best medicine. I firmly believe laughter has the power to bring people together even in the darkest of places and make them feel less alone. This belief is the foundation of what I have dedicated my life to.
Every creative endeavor I have ever taken on has been centered around mental health awareness. Whether that’s storytelling through screenwriting or my two books of poetry, comedic acting, hosting my podcast or public speaking, I always seek to uplift others with my vulnerability, sense of self, and most importantly my sense of humor.
Having been in the entertainment industry for over a decade, I am most myself when on a stage connecting with others. In being candid about my story and topics that are usually hush-hush, I aim to break the stigma surrounding mental health and make anyone listening feel like they have a friend who over-stand what they are going through. A friend rooting for you and a friend who can promise that no matter where you are on your mental health journey, you are not alone.
